My first guest post ever
I've written a post for colleague and fellow Cliopat Mark Grimsley's Blog Them Out of the Stone Age, entitled "What Happens when Non-Military Historians Teach Military History? (answer: students and instructor alike learn a lot from the experience)."
Hop on over and check it out!
(BTW, Mark uses Wordpress, and I think I'm now a convert. It's really time to ditch blogger and move Historianess to its own URL and take care of my own hosting...)

If you want (most of) the benefits of the Wordpress software without going through hosting and installing your own, you could always get a wordpress.com blog. It's as easy to set up as a blogger account.
If you do decide to go for hosting your own, it really is amazingly easy; just make sure that your chosen web host will support WP's fairly modest requirements. And there's a whole community of WP history bloggers out there who'll be glad to guide you through any teething problems! (Not that we're WP evangelicals or anything of course.)
Shall I tell you all about the military history of the Revolutionary War that I suffered through in high school? We didn't have AP classes and such way back then, but my high school history teacher offered an "honors course" and he was a former Marine (though I guess once a Marine, always a Marine). He was hugely enthusiastic and taught beautifully, but it sure wasn't my cup of tea! I very much enjoyed reading about this latest controversy you have managed to weigh in on. As always, "fair and balanced" seems to be the best approach. Mammamoo
